Roleplaying games can be more than just games—they’re where friendships are made, your creativity runs wild, and the groundwork is laid for a life of vivid imagination. There’s nothing worse than a bad RPG, but there’s absolutely nothing better than a great one.

That’s why we created Storycaster: to help build your best campaign ever. Our mission is to guide players and game masters through a powerful Session Zero—where you build a world together, create characters with purpose, and align your party before the story begins. Because a great Session Zero is your best foot forward on the start of an unforgettable adventure.

Hi, Brian here.

I’ve been in love with tabletop roleplaying games since I was a kid. Over the years, that passion became a career—I worked as a creative producer at Wizards of the Coast, helping bring stories to life across some of the biggest names in gaming. But no matter where my career took me, I was always working on being a better GM.
After running countless campaigns in every genre, I started noticing the same problems creeping up again and again: players struggling to connect, characters that didn’t fit the world, and groups that just didn’t click. The solution, I realized, wasn’t more prep—it was a better way to start.
So I built Storycaster.
For over 20 years, I refined it in my spare time. It began with notes scribbled on graph paper and coins used as makeshift tokens—the bare bones of what would become Storycaster. I created categories to organize ideas, then added cards, visual prompts, tokens, and a ruleset to guide the process. Today, Storycaster is a fully realized tool designed to turn Session Zero into a collaborative, story-driven start for your campaign.
When a game starts right, it can change your life. It can make lasting friendships, builds skills you carry with you, and creates stories you’ll remember for years. But when a game starts off wrong? It fades—and may never catch a spark.
Let my 45 years of roleplaying experience help you set your campaign off on the right foot. Storycaster is here to make your next game the best you’ve ever played.

ALEX

Hi, I’m Alex! I handle playtesting, marketing, and community organizing for Storycaster. I’m a math nerd who has always been a huge fan of storytelling in all its forms. I spend way too much time learning history, reading mythology, and writing a few stories of my own. I met everyone on the Storycaster team YEARS ago through online gaming. When I tried an early version of Storycaster with Brian about 10 years ago, I immediately saw the potential, especially as an amateur storyteller. I wanted to use my math background to support the project however I could. Now that we’re finally making it a reality, I can't wait for you to see how easy storycrafting can be with Storycaster.

FRANCO

Hi, I’m Franco! I handle concept art and design for Storycaster. I’ve been deep into gaming since the early 2000s, and that's what sparked my interest in designing games—both digital and tabletop. I’ve contributed art and design to several indie projects, always focusing on visuals that immediately click with players. When I'm not creating, I'm probably exploring synthwave playlists or buried in a graphic novel. Brian and I go way back, and our late night idea sessions got me hooked on Storycaster’s potential from the start. It’s the kind of project I always hoped to work on, and I can’t wait for you all to try it out.

KEVIN

Hi, I'm Kevin. I handle back-end tech, product development, and supply chain management for Storycaster. Outside of work, I'm an avid hiker and tabletop gamer. I've been collaborating on and off with everyone here for years through online gaming, but when Brian first introduced Storycaster, it actually took me some time to fully grasp its value. As an indie developer obsessed with creating roguelikes, I eventually realized how powerful this tool could be for generating ideas and content for my own projects. I’m excited for other creators to experience that same moment with Storycaster.
